From then on you will receive all emails posted to this group. * Visit http://www.resonancefm.com for the current schedule, regularly updated - and to listen on line. * Resonance FM background: London Musicians' Collective has been granted an Access Radio Pilot Licence to broadcast on FM in central London for 12 months from 1st May 2002. It is one of only fifteen organisations in Britain to have been granted such a licence, as part of a new initiative by the Radio Authority; and one of only three such projects in London. It is the only arts-based such project in the country. Resonance FM will broadcast from Bankside, London Bridge, SE1, with a transmission radius of five kilometres, covering central London. Launching on 1st May 2002, it will initially broadcast from 5pm till 1am on weekdays and from 12 noon till 1am at weekends, moving on to 24 hours a day later in the year. Imagine a radio station like no other. A radio station that makes public those artworks that have no place in traditional broadcasting. A radio station that is an archive of the new, the undiscovered, the forgotten, the impossible. That is an invisible gallery, a virtual arts centre whose location is at once local, global and timeless. And that is itself a work of art. Imagine a radio station that responds rapidly to new initiatives, has time to draw breath and reflect. A laboratory for experimentation, that by virtue of its uniqueness brings into being a new audience of listeners and creators. All this and more, Resonance FM aims to make London's airwaves available to the widest possible range of practitioners of contemporary art. Through a programme that arises from an unapologetically artistic vision, Resonance FM seeks to serve and expand the interests of the creative artistic community. With its focus on excellence, Resonance FM aims to raise achievement of young people in and through the arts; to provide creative opportunities for students to develop and utilise skills; and to liaise with local providers and community organisations to enable access on a socially and ethnically diverse scale.
