Hi all, I had tried MS stereo on the dist10 code for sometime. However, the quality always fell short to expectation, especially with sounds like castanets etc. I think the bit allocation of MS and LR plays a big part. I had read the lame code and realise there is a large amount of change from dist10. I wonder where I can get materials, papers, books on these bit allocations formula, tuning etc.
I don't think Lame use the formula more_bits = 3.1 * PE - mean_bits Have anyone tried the AAC bit allocation equation? bit_allocation = (0.3*PE + 6.0*SQRT(PE)) - mean_bits - side_info_bits Would really appreciate any form of assiatance.
