Yes it is another way.  I just perfer the boycott to the two or three ineveitable 
rounds of "foolproof protection" immediately followed by a crack of the "foolproof 
protection".

Phillips has even threatened (according to Reuters) to create drives that ignore the 
purposeful corruption and can rip from copy-protected disks.

Yes, most people are concerned about this.  Look at how fast the seemingly innocent 
PIII "serial number" thing by Intel got slammed!  Consumers need to stay informed and 
vigilant where privacy and fair use issues are involved.  These big companies want to 
know all and see all so they can "own all".

Thank goodness Lame is ISO source free, LGPL code!  Sometimes the best things in life 
ARE free.  :)
