I have a few tracks (downloaded) that when played with mad, give a "error: frame 0: lost synchronization" warning message. There are no audible problems, so I assume one of the headers has a problem. The files are encoded with lame 3.91, CBR.
I'd just ignore the issue, but my file sharing program, "nap", doesn't recognize these as valid mp3 files, and all other programs do. I'd like to able to report this to the author of "nap", but I need more detail about the problem. I might even be able to fix it myself. What are the technical details behind the warning message?
