Problem solved. I tried yet another version of Lame 3.92 (the one on Gabriel's site Lamewin32.exe and it worked with MMX on my VIA) So what was wrong with the two other versions:
I got the two 3.92 versions I tried there: http://www.hot.ee/smpman/mp3/Lame392.zip and it was linked on: http://www.chrismyden.com/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=Elite_DAE&file=painless and: http://www.julius.cistron.nl/LAME-3.92.zip linked there: http://www.jthz.com/mp3/ Thanks, Christian PS the one that worked was linked here: http://www.goldwave.com/release.html I know it may look like a dumb question to you, but why is it said on the page above to copy manually LAME_ENC.DLL in C:\Windows\System if it works without it? Is it just for the GOLDWAVE program to function? >From the MP3'Tech website. Despite its name, LAME is perhaps the best free >MP3 encoder available. Download and run to extract the LAME_ENC.DLL file. >Make sure you copy that file into the C:\Windows\System (or >C:\WinNT\System32 or equivalent) folder. _________________________________________________________________ Discutez en ligne avec vos amis ! http://messenger.msn.fr _______________________________________________ mp3encoder mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://minnie.tuhs.org/mailman/listinfo/mp3encoder
