If you can, take a look at your actual wave itself. Use Soundforge, CoolEdit, Nero, or
any other program that can load and display an mp3 file. I haven't noticed a
difference yet, but I don't use the same ripper. I've got a habit of editing the wave
before encoding, and different rippers leave a different signature in the first few
bits of each cut. This is time consuming, but renders great, fast playing tracks that
stack pretty cool in most players. Try encoding a cut from command line prompt and see
if the signature differs from a ripped cut.
Just a thought.

I have ripped/encoded hundreds of tracks with Lame 3.93 with EAC at the alt preset extreme setting. I just learned that this version of Lame has bugs at the quality level. Should I be concerned and, dare I say, re-rip everything with an earlier version of Lame? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks,
