To be able tp distribute an "MP3 Encoder" for free you must sign a contract
with Fraunhofer and this costs a minimal annual fee of $15.000. Then you
have the right to distribute the decoder free-of-charge but NOTE not inclued
in any adware. If you include it in an adware or sold program you must pay
$0.5 for every sold eition.

If the lame encoder includes code that are specified in the patent for mp3
that Fraunhofer has you can't distribute it for free without signing a
contract.

Microsoft distribute an mp3 decoder but then Microsoft has the money to pay
for the patent. How should ReadHat pay for the patent.
