Thank you very much Gabriel, that did the trick. I feel a lot better, because I spent hours analyzing the MP3s trying to see why it was doing what it did.
 
I also love your website, I viewed it a couple of times while I was learning about the frame headers. You've done a great job.

Mpeg1 frames have 2 granules, while mpeg2 frames only have one. Check this thread:
