Hello Martin,

Your proposal seems very nice.

I went to see your m3w software and it does more than what I would be
looking for. Basically, what's vitally needed are functions that allow:
- record/encode from line-in (mic) or from file (wav) in real time. Ouput =
mp3
- pause/resume recording
- stop recording

Then there are all those funcs that you have added that may be useful (gain
control, ID tags, record from file).

And last, I really like your broadcasting function, but I have zero
knowledge about Icecast server. However, it gives a lot of ideas if there is
a broadcast method in the dll. My project is an elerning project and right
now we record courses and sync them automatically with images. Probably, we
could do this live... We would if there was a usable method to do that.

Also note that the dll should be C++ - not C - to be compatible with a VB
project. VB is needed because the images we sync with sometimes come from
PowerPoint, so VB is needed to interact with PowerPoint - I believe most
Windows programmers would say the same, for other reasons.

So in summary:
- 3 vital functionalities
- other useful funcs that you already have may come later
- C++ dll

If we're in phase on this, I can start writing the semantics of a dll -
although I believe any semantics would probably do it for me so if you would
have a preferred style that would most probably be OK with me.

Regards,

Thierry
