Hi,
I know about the DSP ports of the Lame Code.
IT is not that Difficult to Implement the Lame code on any DSP.
I know people who have Implemented Lame Code on C54x and C55x processors.
So Implementing on C5X Series Should not be difficult task.

Bye
With Rgds

I CCed the mp3 encoder list, maybe someone on this list knows more about
your question.

I don't know the TI 56 series, so I can't speculate. There are several
people which (try to) port lame to a DSP, but I don't anything specific.

Bye,
Alexander.
