If you put it in your computer and played/ripped it, I can't imagine how it could be anything other than a Red book, CDDA disk. That IS the global standard AFAIK.
DVDs, on the other hand can be regionalized, but that is a form of DRM and doesn't change the encoding that I know of, simply the ability of some drives to play the title or not.
