Hi there...

I'm at adding ReplayGain / RVA support to mpg123 and as a first step I'm
reading the values from the Xing/Lame/Info tag.

Could someone enlight me about the value stored there?
On the command line Lame says one value and from the Lame tag I read
another one. The 6dB difference of later versions to 3.95 because of
change of reference to 89dB is indicated in the claimed value, but the
difference for the values I read is much smaller as are the values:

lame tag radio gain command line info after encoding
3.96.1: -1.0dB (claimed -7.4dB)
3.95: -1.0dB (claimed -7.4dB)
3.95: -0.6dB (claimed -13.4dB)

Am I reading the values incorrectly? Should the values in the tag be
identical to the claimed ones? I tried to follow the spec of
ReplayGain...

Also, I am confused by the peak value in the lame tag (mp3 info tag):
ReplayGain says it's to be stored as float, lame stores it as integer??
Anyway, I seem to see only zero bytes on that place so that this doesn't
really matter in practice:-(

Well, is there someone who understands what lame does with these
ReplayGain values and perhaps can help he to interpret that part of
lame/info tag properly?

Greets,

Thomas.
