Hello,
I know that this question could be a little bit off-topic for this channel, but as far as I know meep is being developed in the same group (or by your colleagues). If this is not the right place to ask, I would appreciate any source of information. I found the mpb software on the Internet and I found it very useful and user-friendly comparing to other scripting languages. Now I need some free simulation tool for modeling of electromagnetic field able to work on many machines on the linux platform if possible. I found out, that there is MEEP and tried to compile it. Unfortunately I got this result after ./configure

...
configure: WARNING: Couldn't find the HDF5 library!! Switching to --without-hdf5.
...

I use Debian on AMD64 architecture for the installation and I have the libhdf5-mpich-dev installed that contains hdf5.h in /usr/include/

The next problem I get is that make ends with

make[2]: Entering directory `/tmp/meep-0.9/libctl'
cp -f /usr/share/libctl/base/main.c main.cpp
cp -f /usr/share/libctl/utils/geom.c geom.cpp
gen-ctl-io --cxx --code -o ctl-io.cpp meep.scm /usr/share/libctl
ERROR: Unbound variable: cxx

I would appreciate any information regarding installation of this software or on some other free multiprocessor simulation software.

Thanks

  Lukas Oliva
