I have used Mayavi before and it is a great product (for free).
However, my understanding is that you can import vtk files into mayavi,
but u need to instruct Mayavi to plot. Different plot methods suit
different data types.
If you can send me the vtk file, I may help a little bit further.

I confirm Data typ of diamond.vtk is Field Data ( refer to vtk
formats) like array.
Also I have question about strange of array type.
array combine one line. I confused about diamond.vtk.
