Hello,

I'm doing a new MPB install on RHEL AS 4 on a PPC machine (Linux PPC64
2.6.9-42.0.10.EL - Linux version 2.6.9-42.0.10.EL
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404
(Red Hat 3.4.6-3)) #1 SMP Fri Feb 16 17:18:49 EST 2007)

I installed Guile from the RedHat channels (up2date), hopefully
correctly:
# rpm -qa | grep -i guile
guile-devel-1.6.4-14
guile-1.6.4-14

But when I try to ./configure libctl I don't get past "checking if
linking to guile works":

# ./configure
...
checking for guile... yes
checking for guile-config... yes
checking if linking to guile works... no
configure: error: Guile could not be found

Perhaps it is a library location issue. I think (from rpm -q
--filesbypkg) that the Guile libraries are in /usr/lib64. I tried
adding that to the LDFLAGS (-L/usr/lib64) - but to no avail.

Can anyone tell me a little more about that this test is expecting? Or
any other suggestions to get past this issue?

Gracias.
