Dear MPB users

My question is about mesh size, that I can set in MPB by input variable
mesh-size. As I understood the optimal mesh size is different for each
problem and depend on geometry and grid resolution. But anyway, how can I
define optimal mesh size numerically? What will be the optimal mesh size if
resolution is 64 pixels per lattice unit and variation in geometry is not
more than 10 pixels? If I increase mesh size doesn't it make structure in
output epsilon file less realistic? For example, I have only silica with
epsilon 2.08 and air in my structure. But in outputted epsilon file I will
also have value of epsilon between 2.08 and 1 (if averaging is turned on),
which I don't have in real structure. Why in MPB user tutorial in section
"Maximizing the First TM Gap" we set mesh size equal to 7 and not 10 or 14?
I guess that mesh size should not be more than half of size of lattice unit.

Any Idea and any help are very appreciated
Thanks in advance
