Dear Prof.Steven and mpb-users,
In the “Photonic Crystals: Molding
the Flow of Light” book, at page 80, the dispersion graph of a
square array of dielectric columns in air relating to TM bands is
given(Figure 13 of chapter 5).
The 4. TM band twists upwards from M
through Gamma k-point. However, in the calculated dispersion graph
with mpb, at k-point (0.21645 0.21645 0) this band twists downward at
the intersection point with the 5. TM band. Why is that artifact
arise from?
