Sorry to know about this sad news. As Jack correctly indicated, without Rusty’s contributions, MPI wouldn’t be what it is today. Through the MPI standard, he had immense contributions to the field of Programming Models for HPC systems. I had the pleasure of many years working with him on the PModels1 and PModels2 projects.
