Hi all,

A couple of notes about the rest of the MPI 5.0 cycle.

MPI 5.0 RC2

The release candidate doc is now available for the final ratification meeting
next month. Huge thanks as always to Bill for putting in a ton of work to get
this ready! You can find the doc here:

The vast majority of the changes from RC1 to RC2 happened during the last
meeting (thanks again to everyone for helping!), but there were a handful that
came after that. You can find the full list of changes on the agenda page:
https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.mpi-forum.org/meetings/2025/06/agenda__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!bpP8e5sI5eVvFW4y4PZxxfYXNFZ1-HaVV7QqTAMIDWhGj0g22lR0wlyGOatP5J63n4R8nlXc7fhsWr4q92_HN_w3$

Anything listed as a "first and only” vote is something we read at the last
meeting and won’t read again unless someone has a specific concern. Those will
be voted on using our normal rules, with one vote instead of two (like an
errata).

Anything listed as a no “no vote” is something that changed after the last
meeting. Please pay extra attention to these to make sure you don’t see any
issues. We’ll read them during the June meeting as well. Links to all of the
issues and pull requests are available on the agenda page above.

All of the changes scheduled for votes and plenaries have already been merged
into the RC2 doc linked above so we get a complete doc ready to be reviewed.
You may recall that we do it this way only for the FRM to make it easier on
ourselves (and Bill) to be able to review the entire doc. If any of the votes
fails, we’ll need to back that change out of the PDF and take a quick look at a
new RC3 doc to make sure everything looks ok.

MPI 5.0 Officers

So far the only people nominated for officers for the next cycle are the
current officers. We still have until May 21 to nominate new folks if anyone is
interested. Please email the list if you’d like to be added (or nominate
someone else).

Meeting Registration

If you haven’t already registered for the meeting, please do so here:
https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://forms.gle/gWZHPWwsZAEGGT8B9__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!bpP8e5sI5eVvFW4y4PZxxfYXNFZ1-HaVV7QqTAMIDWhGj0g22lR0wlyGOatP5J63n4R8nlXc7fhsWr4q9y9hR-8V$

I’ve just updated the website with all the attendees that have registered so
far here:
https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.mpi-forum.org/meetings/2025/06/attendance__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!bpP8e5sI5eVvFW4y4PZxxfYXNFZ1-HaVV7QqTAMIDWhGj0g22lR0wlyGOatP5J63n4R8nlXc7fhsWr4q940Sf471$

Call for Plenaries / Votes

If anyone still has anything that they’d like to discuss at the upcoming
meeting, please send an email to the list to let everyone know and we can put
it on the agenda. The first part of the meeting will be taken up with
completing MPI 5.0, but we should have plenty of time to discuss future topics
after that. Let’s get back to technical discussions!

If there’s any questions from any of this, or you think I’ve missed something,
please let me know.

Thanks,
Wes
