Bill encouraged me to mention some new approximate reciprocal code  
I've written, based on the middle product, patch is available under  
BSD license at

I haven't had time to profile it properly yet, but it *should* be  
pretty fast. I'll post timings when I get around to it, or if anyone  
else tries it out, please let me know.

I'm sorry about the misunderstanding a few months back regarding the  
divappr code. I'm still not convinced that the divappr code is  
suitable for production release, but anyway I appreciate the  
additional disclaimer that was added to the version in the repo to  
absolve me of responsibility, thanks. The new reciprocal code is  
solid (in my opinion), and I take responsibility for any bugs found.
