Thanks Jeff. I had a look through our configure.in and those directories are not mentioned at all. So I am not sure where they are picked up from.
In fact, when I grep the entire MPIR distribution, it doesn't find them. There must be something set in your environment that it is picking up. Or there is an autotools bug somehow. Not really sure. But nothing is jumping out at me. Bill.
