We intend to issue the first MPIR-3.0.0 release candidate today, as there don't seem to be any major issues being reported with our alpha releases (at least, not ones we can fix).
After this point there will be an mpir-3.0.0 branch which will only accept bug fixes for the MPIR 3.0.0 release candidates. The aim is to release a final version of MPIR-3.0.0 by the end of the month, i.e. about a week from today. Thanks very much to everyone who has done testing, submitted bug fixes and patches.
