While it is a good thing to fix the FIXME, I don't think linking to the
archives as they are is particularly helpful. That's because there is no
search method available, and you won't browse through all months' archives
to look out for your particular problem if you don't know where to look
anyway.

What I'd do is to use google on that site only, I came up with something
ugly like

http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&hl=de&q=%2Bhttp%3A%2F%2Flists.mplayerhq.hu%2Fpipermail%2Fmplayer-users%2F

to search for things only in the pipermail/mplayer-users domain. But I'm
not sure this link really fits the documentation either.. We could of
course create a page on mplayerhq that contains a google search box.. But
I'm not sure that is wanted.

So why was the search on mplayerhq deactivated again? Lost functionality,
porting problem, too high system load, ..?
