A funny thing started happening in Mpls.maybe a year ago. About a dozen
people would park their cars on main street near Boom Island and ride in
from there. This isn't much now, but maybe in a couple of years gas
costs three dollars a gallon, maybe parking keeps going up......so
thinking about something like this from the beginning would save money
by sheer efficiency. And if the air quality went up, well, that's a good
thing, right?
A north south highway for bikes would help many people who ride three of
the four seasons, and I know many people who ride year round. This would
be an asset to the city, and could be coordinated with the greenway. If
the city really thought about quality of life they would do this, be
frugal and make everyone happy.
