PETITION: Now circulating in Parkway Plaza.
Parkway Plaza is the neighborhood strip of
retailers now blocked in by highway 55 tunnel
construction. The "city-envisioned" redevelopment
plans are to "enhance" the LRT corridor which means
destroying the Plaza. The established businesses
there do not want to be displaced by eviction.
The petition reads as follows:
"I AM A SUPPORTER OF BUSINESSES IN THE
PARKWAY PLAZA, AND I URGE THE CITY COUNCIL
TO LEAVE THESE BUSINESSES IN THEIR CURRENT
LOCATIONS, OR WAIT TO BEGIN EVICTION OF
THESE BUSINESSES UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN
SUCCESSFULLY RELOCATED CLOSE BY."
