Regarding Mr. Spear's comments......
>From what Mr. Spear is saying it sounds like your trying to keep gay and
lesbian people out of the Republican party instead of allowing gay and
lesbian people to join the Republican party. I seen the news broadcast the
other evening where it seemed that he was suggesting that the Republican
party wasn't serious in their encouragement of gay and lesbian candidates
(and for the right reasons). Believe me if that was the case Terrell
wouldn't be able to run as a Republican.
As for the fact that Senator Olson might chair the education committee and
is for vouchers and home schooling....
For a member of a party that claims to be on the side of pro-choice
issues....it doesn't sound like that's the case when it comes to education.
What is wrong with having a choice in a child's education. I spend a lot of
time and effort working with the public schools as a parent activist, but I
still believe in the option to send my child where I want to send him. Not
being able to use a tax deduction to help pay for private education would
keep most people away from that CHOICE. Are you afraid of a little
competitiveness in education? s it going to take a NAACP type lawsuit to get
you to realize it's the same issue as transporting students to suburban
schools.
As far as Senator Larry Pogemiller goes....
If Senator Pogemiller (my Senator) is so great on education issues, why are
the scores so low?
Why can't the department of Families, Learning, and happy thoughts verify
that test scores are correct?
Stop the partisanship and solve the problems!!!!! Maybe it'll take a little
more Republican control in the city to solve these issues. Give us a
balance in the city before the lights go out!!!
