Are there any studies that show that density in the inner city equates to
preventing urban sprawl?

It seems to me that the high density projects of the 1960's and 1970's
probably actually contributed to urban sprawl by concentrating poverty.  I
don't have any studies to prove that either, but Minneapolis and St. Paul
lost a lot of population to the burbs and then the exurbs during that
period of time.

However, from what I remember about this thread, it sounds like the Many
Rivers project is a good idea. There needs to be more 3 bedroom units for
low income families.  It would be bad if this project got cancelled.
