I'm glad Rosalind mentioned how in some cities community groups are
encouraged to post flyers...She mentioned Madison and Boulder...I'd add
Boston.

Part of the problem we seem to have is that we just don't have enough places
for people without big ad budgets to get their word out.  I saw a good
example of this last night walking by the telephone pole on the northeast
corner of Franklin and Hennepin....It has about 4,730 staples, as one group
after the other tries to get its flyer to fit.

When you see a pole like that it's really telling us that there are lots of
people who want to say lots of things in that location....and it seems the
easier we made it for people to do that, the less we'd have people posting
things in places that aren't legal. I'd love big public boards in places
like this where we encourage people to post whatever they want.
