Paper ballots? Filling in the ovals? Frantic runs to
Kinko's? C'mon. Let's get with the times.

Shareholders have been able to vote their proxies over
the Internet the last 3 election cycles. In addition,
most states (including MN?) now recognize the legality
of online signatures. Add these together . . . and,
Voila!, you get online voting in general elections.

How about "spinning the dial" to randomly pick a
handful of Minneapolis precincts in which to debut
this technology next Nov.? The learning curve from
this experience will dictate how fast to roll out the
technology city-wide.
