OK Everyone - here's what happened:

Dave sent a private note to Wizard. Wizard, unfortunately, forwarded her
response to the entire list.

As harsh as Dave's post was, it wasn't intended for our eyes and deserves
only private scorn. Wizard, however, violated a big-time list rule: not
forwarding private posts to the list. This is important to keep the whole
shebang from degenerating into personal backbiting. (Ironically, as with
Barb's original post, what Wizard did was unintentional, I'm sure. But it's
still a list violation.)

Please check who your mail comes from. If from an individual, it's an
off-list post. If from the Minneapolis Issues server address, it went to
everyone. BUT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE VIOLATED THE RULES DOESN'T MEAN YOU GET
TO!

The moral of the story this week is - look before you post, and think a few
times before you send junk to the list. Occasionally, you just might holster
your rhetorical guns - not every fault and foible, be it ours of the city's,
needs a bitter shout-out.

Everyone, please settle down and act like grown-ups. Dump this thread now -
we've obviously proven we can't handle it.
