I think it is well underway. The Longfellow Community
Council (LCC) has use NRP $$ to: Close all Saunas,
revitalize the corner of 38 St. & 42nd Ave, develop a master
plan for the revitalization of Minnehaha Ave as well as many
smaller "fix and paint"/site plan reviews along all our
major streets. LCC has helped finance the purchase and
repair of the the Coliseum building at 27th and Lake, and is
currently working on a master plan for Lake street and the
future development of "Len's gas station & temple" site at
the intersection of Lake and W. River Parkway. On the minor
streets we have fixed up a lot of homes, planted trees
(several hundred/neighborhood), added great playground
equipment to most of our community schools and built a
dynamite part building at Bracket Park. IMHO is was a great
5 years and the next round of NRP funding will be even
better.
