Hi again everyone -

After several frustrating days, Minneapolis-issues is back. We took
advantage of our old server crashing to move to a new one.

This means some changes, mostly for the better!

1. The address to send posts to has changed! Now it's [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2. The rules and regs all remain the same (Including the two post-per-day
limit, for those of you chafing over the past few days of list-darkness...)
3. Our home page is still http://www.e-democracy.org/mpls-issues
4. You have a lot more power to configure how you receive list posts. Check
the options at: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/mpls. If you're
already subscribed (and you are, if you received this post), please don't
re-subscribe.
5. You now can customize how you receive the list more easily. A password is
required for this and other options. Obviously, if I subscribed you, you
won't know your password. To get it, go to
http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/mpls, then go to the bottom of the
page and put in your address. Hit Edit Options. Under Forgotten Your
Password? Hit the Email My Password to Me button. When you receive your
list-generated password, you can change it to your own by going back to
http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/mpls, going back to the bottom of
the page, hitting Edit Options. On the next page, use the Change Your
Password section.
6. All of you who were subscribed via digest were re-subscribed without it.
This is only because I couldn't quite reconstruct who had it. If you would
like to receive digest format, go to
http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/mpls
7. A password isn't essential to be on the list. You do need it to customize
options. Again, this upfront hassle will give you more power to manage your
account in the long run.

In re-subscribing people, I may have inadvertently double-subscribed someone
or put in an old address. I might have re-subscribed some of you who had
un-subscribed. Just let me know and I'll fix it. I'm sure there will be a
breaking-in period for all of us, list managers and members alike. Please be
patient while we learn the new system...it really will be better!

Among other improvements, all subject lines should carry the [Mpls] tag.
That will make it easier for you to instantly identify list posts, and also
make filtering easier.

Also, there is more home-page information appended to the end of every post.
There's a new archive as well.

If you have ANY problems, email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please, again, be
patient as I will probably have lots of stuff to wade through. There's a
possibility our old MTN server could rise from the dead and start working,
but please use the mnforum.org one instead. (By the way, BIG THANKS to the
MTN folks who generously donated time and expertise - for no dough - to keep
us running!)

Again, to all of you, thanks for hanging in there with us!

David Brauer
List manager, Minneapolis-issues
