Someone asked if in other states wine sales in
grocery stores affected liquor store business. In Wisconsin where you used to be
able to buy pretty much anything anywhere anytime - my experience was that you
could pick up a cheap bottle of wine or a six pack at the market
conveniently. If you wanted anything decent, you planned to go to the
liquor store. Two different kinds of sales for two different reasons. One
minimally affected the other. (When are we going to discuss being able to buy
beer on Sunday for when friends drop in to see the game?)
Oh - and to Barb Lickness - usually wine drinkers
aren't looking for the "latest Merlot" or "new Cabernet". Just the
opposite!!
