This came into my in-box the other day...in the wake of our neighborhood discussion, some of you may be interested in this free seminar... - David Brauer, list manager Training for neighborhood volunteers and staff STAFF SUPERVISION Has your neighborhood organization had any of these personnel-related problems? *Can't find qualified staff? *High staff turnover? *Tension between staff and volunteers? *Staff aren't doing the job you want? *Low staff morale? If so, you are not alone. A unique set of circumstances makes staff supervision in neighborhood organizations especially challenging. For example: *Volunteers with limited time supervise full-time staff *Some staff' jobs are done predominantly out of the office, where they cannot be directly supervised *There can be swift, drastic changes in the organization's leadership or staff *In a way, staff can have thousands of bosses The training has been developed to help neighborhood groups deal with these challenges. The training will include discussion and role-plays, and will focus on supervision. The discussion on supervision will be led by people from neighborhood groups who have developed successful supervising methods. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 7:OO P.M.
