>How do I find out what ward I'm in?
Claire -- you are a delegate in Ward 12, precinct 4, having been
so elected in the 2000 Precinct Caucuses.

>What elections are this year, for terms of how long?
Elections this year in Mpls are for Mayor, City Council (all
members), Board of Estimate & Taxation (the 2 elected members), Park Board
(all 6 districts & 3 city-wide seats), School Board (3 of 7 seats), and
Library Board (all seats). All of these serve for 4 year terms.

>Who gets to vote in what now, and what are the new options being discussed?
Same eligible voters as in any election, all citizens over 18 who
have lived in the district for 21 days or more on election day, who have
not had their voting rights removed because of criminal convictions or
court declaration of insanity.

>What can I attend, as someone brand-new to the process? Of that, what can I
>vote in?
You can attend anything. You can vote at the 12th Ward Convention
(Mar 3rd, Nokomis Park Center) and the City convention (May 5th, Augsburg
College).

>What are the various purposes etc.. of the ward convention, precinct
>caucus, and city convention?
Ward convention endorses someone for City Council from that ward,
and elects people to work on the city convention committees.
City Convention endorses for all the other offices. At some point
it breaks into 6 sections to endorse for the 6 Park districts.
Precinct caucuses don't happen in Mpls this year -- they are only
in even-numbered years. (St. Paul has them every year.)

>What processes are currently in place for voting at the various meetings,
>and what processes are under discussion?
All conventions are one-person/one-vote, majority rule on most
issues as per Roberts Rules, but with 60% required for endorsement.
