For a long time we've known that Minneapolis needed someone to stand
up for; people's right to be free from police harassment, protection of our
environment, the right of people to work and live affordably in Minneapolis,
and the right of our different cultures, including our counter-cultures to
operate their businesses and live their lives free from city harassment.
On Friday February 23rd, join local Jazz musician, cab driver and
Minneapolis native Tamir Nolley in a day full of speeches and events as he
stands on a soapbox and declares his intention to give his heart and soul to
the people of Minneapolis' sixth ward by serving them as thier next city
council member. The event begins at 11:00 at Jubbaland Restaurant (806 E
Franklin). Join Tamir and friends for lunch and good Somali food. A series
of ten minute poetic declarations throughout the ward will follow. The day
will wrap up with a declaration party at Cafe Fusion (1526 E Lake St.)
