I contend pollution is a Mpls. issue. What David had to add about taxis and school buses was right on. I think all I was trying to do was shed light on the fact that buses and taxis could and should be cleaner. This alone would do alot to make the air breathable on the mall. Besides, I wonder what a electronic pollution monitor would find? Is downtown air legal according to the MPCA? I smell a settlement. I'm not worried about the private sector, they seem to have enough babysitters looking after them. I like so many people thought lrt was a great idea, and it still is. It's how they're doing it that's problematic. As explained by so many people in the past year of mute debate. My post is entitled The Future Mpls. I read with excitement about C.W.O.P.A. and while it seems unlikely to happen, I thought how refreshing. People working together for the people. I think it's because America and it politics are still so young and immature that we haven't realized the Declaration of Independence, but I digress..... So essentially 13 Councilors and one Mayor as one team, is this legal to our charter? If this can be done, then it's just a matter of time that these and many more reforms will rise to the top for experimentation. I say couldn't be much worse. As far as initials and politics, that's um well immature. If we greens don't run a Mayor then at this point my vote is for R.T. Sharon really blew it with many things in the past couple of years. But the reroute of 55, e block, the kondirator, cororate welfare, while admittedly not entirely her fault show a substantial lack of vision and leadership. That's why I like Ron's idea of a team, where like in a really democracy all sides are at the table. I know democracy is messy stuff and slow and all. But darnit I thought it was a good idea. It was a brisk ride this morning, soon........it will be rain and cold, yum.
