Folks:

I have begged, pleaded, cajoled, and sorta-threatened: rehashing the last
presidential election is NOT a Minneapolis issue. While it may inform your
vote, it is not a matter of city policy in any way, at least not under the
guidelines Minneapolis-Issues was set up to discuss.

Some of you have chosen to ignore previous warnings. So I'm getting serious:
anyone engaging in further debate about the merits of last year's
presidential race will be subject to two months of list manager moderation
(I review your posts beforehand to see if they fit list rules/guidelines) or
expulsion, at my discretion. Consider this a list-wide "first warning."

More general threads, such as whether Minneapolis parties should enforce a
"straight ticket," or cross-endorse, are allowed if they are in the context
of how such policies affect issues unique to, or particular to, Minneapolis.

In recent days, we have strayed vividly from discussing city policy and city
issues. There has also been a corresponding list-wide decline in mutual
respect & decorum.

I'm frankly tired of it, and judging from many members' offline posts to me,
others are terrifically bored or annoyed. It's time to get back to the
issues that ARE germane under our charter
(http://www.e-democracy.org/mpls) - those that are unique or particular to
Minneapolis.

Further reminder: state politics and state topics are also inappropriate
here. To discuss those issues, please join another forum. See our home page
at http://www.e-democracy.org

Complaints about this ruling may be directed to my E-Democracy board chair,
Steve Clift, at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please don't clog everyone's inboxes
discussing the list itself - that is also against the rules. You can also
email me directly to comment.
