Good for you to catch the incongruity in Mondale's position.

It's pretty clear why we will continue to see this type of bunk from
Mondale's Minions -- they don't want to tell the truth about LRT. If they
did -- and we all had the facts clearly presented to the taxpayers and
elected officials -- LRT would have never left the station, so to speak.

Anybody care to guess who's going to pick up the tab for the utility
relocations that LRT is shoving down the throat of the utilities? The PUC
-- if the judge let's MnDOT do so -- will have no choice but to allow a
rate increase. I guess the MM's believe that millions of Minnesotans
paying a few bucks extra per month isn't the same as a tax. At least it
avoids the pitfalls inherent in explaining yet another LRT budget fiasco.

Subject: [Mpls] RE: lrt land bridge funding

Teddie Mondale cries poor at the idea that the revised design with a
land bridge over Lake Street be replaced by the originally approved
pier-supported bridge.

Let's see: when Sabo got an extra $60 million from the feds, it was
said that items originally changed or dropped to save money and meet
the original budget would be restored, along with some new items.

Now Teddie wants the city to pay $2-4 million in costs to go back to
the original design. Wonder why it can't be paid out of the new
honey-pot supply and drop some new items?
