Interesting article.....  I'd say a good place for a Republican to run
would be in the 3rd ward race--against Joe (if you don't like what I do,
move out of the district) Biernat.  The list compiled by Tim Bonham
suggests Biernat has no opponent as of yet.  

Interesting quote here:

"We wouldn't have trouble finding money," he said. "The problem is finding
candidates. We don't want to just put anybody up. We don't want somebody
going out there just to fall on a sword."

The State Party did help to raise money for Peter Bell.  However, I don't
recall the State Party doing much financially to help either Terrell Brown
or Frank Taylor.  The other thing that would make sense is to seriously try
to run some candidates for Park Board, School Board, and Library Board.

Shirley Carlson is listed as a Republican Candidate for ward 10 on the
Minneapolis election toolkit:
