In regards to Tim's comments about who were the elected officials "minding
the store" regarding the LRT bridge. Neither of the councilmembers who are
most closely connected to that corner are seeking re-election so that chore
is already taken care of. However, the new council member from the 9th ward
will have the keys to the farm in the future until redistricting occurs -
we can only hope the new "crop" will be more responsive to the community
than has occurred in the past couple of years.

On the Met Council side was Carin Dewar and now is Frank Hornstein. We
worked with Frank in the old garbage transfer station days and found him
easy to talk and work with - we hope that will continue.

Our legislative delegation, Clark, Berglin and Davanie are good to work
with but I have found that many times they don't know what is happening on
the ground out here any more than the rest of us. However, Karen Clark got
right on this issue, held a special meeting last Friday with the Mineapolis
delegation on these issues and she works hard to represent us well.

It's just the communication tools seem to be lacking or non-existent
especially from MnDOT and oftentimes the Met Council. Although Met Council
is trying harder. But everyone is right - they sure blew this one.
What makes me the maddest about all this is that Jesse Ventura and Ted
Mondale for the past year hve stood before me and all my neighbors at
several public forums and tell us how good this station is going to be for
the neighborhood and continually ask for our support and trust on their
judgment of knowing what's best for our neighborhood - and when they look
me in the eye - I try really hard to believe them. So I guess that
exercise is done for now - I have worked with Ted on issues over the years
and he knows how upset I can get. You would have thunk he could have done
better.
Working hard to figure out how to get people across the damn 8-lane highway
to go grocery shopping.
