I completely agree with Mr. Minn on this issue, however I find it ironic that
the remainder of his message was a personal attack on myself. I would like
to stick to the issue I raised and get an educated response as to why
McDonald's actions and conducts have led me to believe that she is a
Republican and merely using the DFL party for her personal gain. I have very
good reason for my beliefs based on my previous personal experiences with her
on the neighborhood level 3 years prior to her being a councilmember.
In fact, it was her racist actions and comments at that time that initiated
my strong disagreement with her philosophy and conduct. Since I just made a
strong allegation about McDonald, I would like to give my basis for saying
so. Approximately 11 years ago, when I was on LHENA along with Lisa, she
called me to solicit my vote against an applicant for a business. She told
me then that "we don't want these kind of people doing business in our
neighborhood". The next day I attended the board meeting to find that the
"people" she was referring to were an African-american couple who wished to
open a hair salon. I openly stated at the meeting what Lisa had told me the
day before and urged the members to vote for the business. (Thankfully, the
motion passed.) This is only one of a multitude of examples that I can
personally tell you about her improper conduct.
As for Mr. Minn's personal attacks on me, I would think he would be ashamed
to write such false allegations without support against me. I invite anyone
to visit my properties that I remodeled in a elegant way, as they will speak
for themselves. I would also urge those who are interested to check the
inspection records on any of my properties. You will find that the
allegations are absolutely unsubstantiated and unfounded. Ms. McDonald tried
to crack down on some of my properties as a form of harrassment and
retaliation by using the inspection department. Unfortunately, the
inspection department was unable to take any action, because they were unable
to find any of these so-called violations. One last thing on the personal
attacks....I am not aware of any restraining orders filed or pending against
me. It's merely another cheap shot against me or maybe you are insinuating
that she should file one against me.
Yes Mr. Minn, let's stick to the issue on hand. The fact is that I am not
running for public office, however Ms. McDonald is. Therefore, she is
subject to the debate of an open forum such as this. Another example that
has led me to believe in her Republican party status relates to the time Mr.
Minn was a councilmember. For those who aren't aware, Mr. Minn was the only
open Republican councilmember. McDonald's and Minn's voting history on the
council paralled each other (in that they leaned toward the Republican
philosophy), which only reinforces my belief in her party ties.
