I suggest that if this list is to be consistent with its stated purpose
of promoting democracy, it needs to implement some internal democratic
procedure. While the decisions of the List Manager can all be
legitimately debated, they would be met with more acceptance and comfort
if they were subject to some sort of democratic procedure.
How about a mechanism where list members can vote on proposed rules or
rule changes, or discipline of members? For example, 75% of at least
one-half the members would have to approve an expulsion. Such
procedures might seem complicated at first glance, but democracy is not
necessarily simple and the creative use of all this technology could
make things simpler.
