My understanding is that there is a lot of "blame" for these mistakes to
go around.It was not only the Met Council's fault.  Also, a valid point
that I have heard made is that the LRT will benefit the City of
Minneapolis and the City has not ( until now) actually contributed to
the project costs although it has substantially contributed to the
project through staff time, provisions for future Transit Oriented
Development near station areas. 

I think that the City Council ( + Met Council, MNDOT, Hennepin Ct)must
now make their statements about making sure this never happens again a
policy issue to be addressed and solved. 


Today, the City Council voted 12-1 to contribute 1/2 of the cost of
resolving the Wall issue. 

Thank CM Barret Lane if you were against the City's participation. Thank
the others if you are happy that the Wall issue has been solved.
