My understanding is that there is a lot of "blame" for these mistakes to go around.It was not only the Met Council's fault. Also, a valid point that I have heard made is that the LRT will benefit the City of Minneapolis and the City has not ( until now) actually contributed to the project costs although it has substantially contributed to the project through staff time, provisions for future Transit Oriented Development near station areas. I think that the City Council ( + Met Council, MNDOT, Hennepin Ct)must now make their statements about making sure this never happens again a policy issue to be addressed and solved. Today, the City Council voted 12-1 to contribute 1/2 of the cost of resolving the Wall issue. Thank CM Barret Lane if you were against the City's participation.
