It does--if the parks were not established in the first place, if the Park
Board had not invested in cleaning up pollution flowing into the lakes, if
we were not willing to pay taxes to maintain the parks, we would not have
been able to enjoy this.
(I really enjoyed showing off our city to a visitor for San Francisco two
weeks ago--he was amazed at how well the parks were maintained.)
