In response to Susan Young's post:
It's nice to see our city leaders so geared up to start cleaning up our
city. It's too bad that we have to wait for an election year! Once every
four years doesn't cut it. There is an awful lot of Mpls residents that
don't just make an effort during election years, but instead, practice
community responsibility every day of every year. It's too bad that we have
to hear how gracious those city employees are for donating their time to
volunteer to keep our city clean. If our city leaders weren't busy handing
out millions of dollars in corporate subsidies, we wouldn't have to depend as
much on volunteers to keep Mpls clean. So, excuse me for sounding a bit
unappreciative, but one way or another it is Ms. Young's (and our other city
leaders) job to keep our city clean. Since we have seen our garbage services
seriously deteriorate and the litter pile up, they should be out there
picking up the trash. Just doing their job.
