That is why is the library not including affordable housing in the housing portion of the Central Library project? The mid-level housing unit as I understand it is estimated at $350,000. When asked about affordable housing the Central Library Implementation Committee said: "Primary factor is need to generate TIF for the public improvements" and "it is a question more of what resources are needed for the project to generate the tax increment financing portion."
