I still don't like the bills, with the "interest free loan" and the "sales tax free zone". It seems to me that whatever the sales tax exemption is worth is an annual gift from the taxpayers to the team, so whatever the supposed "increase" (from previous proposals) in the team's outlay should be reduced by that sales tax amount. Let's look at the $140 million or so loan. Assuming that there are 100,000 baseball fans, a personal loan of $1,400 over 5 years at 10 percent interest gives a monthly payment of $29.75, and they would have the pride of being a part-owner of the stadium. Or $59.50 a month for 50,000 fans.
