Could you expand on the levels of discrimination
are low?  Compared to what?

When I lived in the Phillips neighborhood we had
a huge problem with the language barrier and
dealing with certain police officers.  

Employment also is a huge issue in the Somalian
community.  If a person cannot prove that they
have the "competent" (my words) employment in the
United States, many times these folks have to go
back to school and apply for entry level
positions to prove their worth.

I think that the immigrant population has been
complaining for years, but this is the first time
the media has chosen to make it newsworthy.
