What about getting rid of stuff like the baracades on 10th and Lake and
Eliot and Lake. Those were set up because those blocks didn't like the
traffic. Well no one likes traffic in front of their house, but there are
way too many one ways for one block, or blocked off streets for now real
purpose. This really overloads the Chicago Lake intersection, and gives
people not a good route to avoid it -- and also has the unintended
consequence of diverting traffic to the alleys. These aren't construction
sites -- but they sure look like construction sites permanently.
These ugly baracades have been there for years.
I live on Park Av -- there is too much traffic there for my taste, but
that's part of living in the city. I like the grid design in the city --
and like the numbered streets system and the alphabetical system west of
Lyndale. It makes it lots easier to get around around here than elsewhere.
